My stay at the Athens Capital Hotel - MGallery was nothing short of outstanding, from the unbeatable location in the heart of the city to the flawless attention to detail in every corner. The design is sophisticated and modern, creating an atmosphere that is both chic and incredibly welcoming. I was particularly impressed by the comfort of the bed, which provided a perfect night's sleep, and the quality of the food and coffee was truly amazing—a rare find to have such high-calibre dining right within the hotel. What truly made the experience memorable, however, was the service; the entire teamElena Brodskaya

This is the finest luxury hotel in Athens. Great staff, central location, next to the parliament, train station and syntagma park with amazing views of the acropolis. My brother and I stayed at the property during our visit to Athens in the last week of November. Our room was upgraded and we had perfect view of the acropolis and the city.Room was were very cozy, the Hotel has a very historic feel and the decor compliments it. We had a great 1-night stay here after a trip around the Greek islands before our flight back home the next day- truly wished we could’ve stayed longer! The cabanas are the very definition of luxury in the way they’re decorated and furnished. It’s amazing to have direct access to the beach with sunbeds (and two swimming pools, if that’s more your thing). The breakfast is excellent and the service all around was so friendly from everyone we interacted with. The only thing worth mentioning is that the cabanas are not very soundproof - we stayed in #7 which is right on the road, hence we heard evSusan

King George, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Athens

We booked a Deluxe room via the FHR program. At check-in, Cleo was so kind and welcoming from the moment we arrived, and all perks were clearly explained with a room upgrade to a 6th-floor Deluxe with two balconies and a direct view of the Acropolis. The room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The bathroom was huge (both bath and shower) and fully stocked with everything from toothbrushes to mouthwash. We also found several welcome amenities waiting for us. Having an espresso on the balcony facing the Acropolis was a highlight! The service was incredible and fast. The Dolli at Acropolis

Athens, Greece

4.7(517)
FHR

Small boutique hotel with limited rooms so don’t expect an upgrade if you book through Amex. While the staff is lovely and rooftop breakfast nicely done, the Acropolis view room is nowhere near worth the price. The room is very, very small and the view, while indeed has the acropolis in it, leaves a lot to be desired (including lots of a/c’s and a camera outside looking right into your room). They must use a very wide angle lens in the hotel photos. Good location and very generous with sweets (if you like that type of thing). The value for the rooms, however, is quite poor.Dana B

We had a dinner reservation for 3 people at Ora on May 25. When we arrived, the hostess informed us that they had changed the menu for the evening from à la carte to a set multi-course meal for a special pop up event, and told us that if we wanted to dine at the sushi restaurant on the property we were welcome to instead. After looking at the special menu, we decided that we didn’t feel like eating a 7+ course meal and told the hostess that we’d prefer to dine at the sushi restaurant. She escorted us over to the other restaurant to be seated for dinner there. While dining, my friend, who had mAllison Storey

I recently stayed at the Ace Hotel in Athens and was thoroughly impressed. The rooms are a great size, thoughtfully designed, and full of fun features that make the stay feel unique, complete with extremely comfortable chairs on the balcony, perfect for relaxing after a day out. This hotel would appeal to singles, couples or groups of friends, with its roof terrace and lively vibe, there is something for everyone. Breakfast was excellent, easily one of the best I’ve had. The coffee was delicious and the croissants were especially good: fresh, flaky, and genuinely delicious. The food at Sora waClare Barlow

FHR in Athens — FAQ

How many Fine Hotels + Resorts properties are in Athens?

There are 13 luxury properties in Athens bookable through a card collection — Amex Fine Hotels + Resorts, The Hotel Collection, Chase The Edit or Capital One Premier — this page shows the all 13. Each earns you perks like daily breakfast, a property credit and room upgrades on top of your room rate.

Which card gives the best hotel benefit in Athens?

It depends on the property. Amex Platinum (FHR) adds daily breakfast, a ~$100 credit and 4pm checkout with no minimum stay. Chase Sapphire Reserve (The Edit) and Capital One Venture X (Premier) add similar perks with a two-night minimum. Many Athens hotels appear in more than one collection, so book through whichever card gives you the richest credit.

Must I book a prepaid rate to trigger the property credit?

For Amex FHR, no — the on-property credit applies to any FHR-booked stay through Amex Travel. For The Hotel Collection and Chase's The Edit, book the standard collection rate through the card's own travel portal (not a third-party site) and the credit, breakfast and upgrade post automatically at checkout.

Do I need to log into Amex or Chase to see these hotels?

No. This page lists every participating Athens property publicly so you can plan first. When you're ready to book, open a hotel's page for direct portal links.
