“We have been here for four days and have found the staff to be very friendly and accommodating. That said, the hotel itself feels quite dated. For example, the gym still has carpet, which makes it feel unclean and not well suited for a fitness space. We typically choose to stay here because of our Accor status. Unfortunately, a recent housekeeping experience has made it difficult for us to consider returning. Up until Sunday, our room was cleaned thoroughly and met expectations. “Fairmont Château Laurier truly feels like a castle, the name “Château” says it all. From the moment you walk in, the lobby is stunning and full of history. The rooms are huge, and our kids loved having all that space to enjoy and relax. The service was excellent throughout our stay. Staff were attentive, welcoming, and made everything feel smooth and easy. We also loved the photobooth area, which added a fun and memorable touch to the visit. “Large picturesque hotel in the city center of Ottawa. Prices are reasonable but on the higher end. Rooms are clean and charming, we had a room specifically with a view on the Rideau Canal and Canadian parlement and it didn’t disappoint. The only downside however is the incredibly long waiting time on our car during checkout, based on other reviews this is definitely something they can improve on. (Visited summer 2025)” — ANJ B
