“This is not a restaurant!! so don’t review it as ‘a restaurant’ esp. if you do not get a reservation. Day visits are also limited to gallery when the Inn is busy. Good on you Fogo Island Inn for keeping this house special for the ones who commit to staying here. This place is so special and even more so the fact you don’t have ‘day visitors’ traipsing through all day… they want to look, take pics and go but aren’t prepared to spend time and money to stay. “Quite an unpleasant experience attempting to book dinner. I emailed two months in advance with the request. I was told I was added to the waitlist and that someone would "be in touch" prior to the date. I never received another communication from the Inn despite my sending a follow up email. I understand guests of the Inn need to be prioritized but I would suggest doing so in a way that doesn't alienate potential ones. Letting me know in advance that my request could not be accommodated would be an expectation of a more modest restaurant much less one with Michelin posturing.” — Larvatus Prodeo
