“We had another wonderful stay at the Mandarin Oriental Shanghai. The service throughout our visit was excellent and truly memorable. At the front desk, Sophie was very attentive and especially helpful with the billing details, which we greatly appreciated. Carson, the Associate Manager, was also very attentive and made the check-in process smooth and welcoming. We also had a lovely experience at Yong Yi Ting. Manager Li and his staff was very knowledgeable about the dishes and showed great kindness to my mother, which made the meal even more special. At breakfast, Manager Alan was amazing. “Overall a good and comfortable stay at Mandarin Oriental Shanghai - Pudong. The service is unbeatable, as expected in China — the front desk team was always very helpful and genuinely tried to accommodate requests. Cleanliness was very good, sleep quality was excellent, and the room was quiet. I didn’t really use the AC much, but it seemed to work quietly as well. The hotel is in a great location and the room view was amazing. Breakfast was probably the weakest point — a bit average and slightly underwhelming compared to similar hotels. “Rooms are large and spacious with all sorts of amenities, exactly what you’d expect from a Mandarin Oriental property. Views of the Oriental Pearl Tower really added to the experience. Service was good, staff looked after every detail, were very welcoming and spoke english quite proficiently. Everyone was really helpful with directions on how to navigate China as a first time visitor. Only downside I’d mention is location. While Pudong is often recommended as a neighborhood to stay in, the hotel is located a little ways off from the main touristic area, with the nearest metro / train station b” — Franco
