“My stay was booked through American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts (FHR). As per the FHR program terms, the reservation is eligible for a one-category room upgrade upon availability at check-in. At no point during the booking process was I informed of any restriction that would exclude upgrades to a suite category. Despite suite availability at the time of check-in, the hotel insisted that no complimentary upgrade to suite could be offered and instead required additional payment to upgrade to a basic suite.
