“We were really excited to stay here for our honeymoon, which is why this review is difficult to write. Our first impression unfortunately fell well below expectations for a property at this price point. We arrived just before a dinner reservation on-site, and the check-in process took about 20 minutes and felt very basic. We were given our room key but no overview of the property, amenities, or even directions to our room. “We didn't want to leave: we had such a wonderful time here. John, the Food & Beverage Manager on the beach was very accommodating and attentive, Prince and Kai, serving up drinks at the beach and pool, did a great job. The hostesses and servers in the Halani and Canoe House restaurants were all incredible. Teresita in housekeeping took such great care of us. “Mauna Lani's services don't quite live up to the other reviews. I stayed with an unlimited golf package, but the golf course didn't seem to have my reservation from the hotel which costed quite a bit of confusion, with the golf course sorting it out but discussing for 15 minutes on the phone with the resort. Also, the hotel's restaurants all need prior reservation... not unheard of but it is problematic when the breakfast wait is 30 minutes... you would think that at least for breakfast the resort should be able to accommodate all guests.
