“We stayed at this hotel expecting the level of service and attention associated with a Relais & Châteaux property, especially considering the price per night, but unfortunately the experience fell far below expectations. First, my husband informed the hotel in advance that we were celebrating my birthday. Not only was there no special attention whatsoever, but the request seemed to be completely ignored. “Loved loved loved our stay here! What a quaint retreat. The staff is incredible all around — from the second you arrive with a complimentary drink to when they’re packing your car to leave. The bar area is super cool and we loved the live music on certain nights. The design of the rooms is also impeccable. Though some of the experiences are on the expensive side, we had a lot of fun doing them (cocktail class, massages, wine tasting)! Loved the proximity to Etna for a partial day trip as well. “We stayed at Monaci for one night and had a lovely experience overall. At check-in, we were welcomed with a glass of excellent wine and a friendly chat at the bar. The bar has a beautiful and unique interior, and the staff were very attentive and pleasant to talk to.
