“Pros: The location is excellent and the grand vintage architecture gives the property a lot of character. Every staff member we interacted with was friendly and welcoming. Despite being in a busy area, the room was surprisingly quiet from street noise. Cons: The property feels lacking in amenities for its price point. There’s no lobby bar or convenience/store area for travel essentials or snacks, though there is a CVS a few blocks away. There is a rooftop bar/restaurant on the 19th floor, and while the staff there was friendly, the cocktail program felt underwhelming and the bar itself is fair” — Stephen Thompson

“We stayed here because it's part of Amex Fine Resorts and Hotels collection. I felt like 75% of the people staying here were there for that reason. The downside I think of that is the guaranteed 4pm late checkout because our room (and many others) was definitely not available for check-in at 4. I got there around 3:15 and didn't get in until 4:40 or so, so that was unfortunate. they kept saying they would text (which they didn't) and that there were lots of late checkouts. “On a positive note, the staff was exceptional; the welcoming atmosphere and high level of service from the front desk team truly stood out. ​However, I encountered a significant issue with the climate control in my room. Despite the spacious and well-appointed layout, the air conditioning was non-functional, with the temperature remaining at a constant 78 degrees throughout my stay. While I managed to make it work, the lack of a comfortable sleeping environment was disappointing for a property of this caliber.
