“I was a bit irritated when there was an offer to book online and receive a complimentary bottle of wine, which wasn't in the room upon check-in. I asked the receptionist, who politely informed us that they are no longer providing the wine but offered my Mom and I free drink vouchers for the bar. Again, not exactly what I'd hoped for but we accepted the offer and made our way. And life is too funny that way because our bar experience happened to be the best part of our visit to Bath. “My daughter and I stayed in the Gainsborough in late April. It was centrally located and we were able to walk to the area attractions that we were interested in. After a nice dinner on the town, we stopped in the bar at the Gainsborough for a nightcap. We were supposed to receive a complimentary bottle of champagne, but instead, we were told that we could have a complimentary cocktail in the bar instead. Aside from being very good at his craft, Rory, the bartender, was attentive and a pleasure to talk to and made us & the other guests in the bar feel welcomed.
