“I recently had the misfortune of staying at The Ritz Carlton Bachelor Gulch, and I must say that the customer service fell far short of what one would expect from a luxury hotel. Upon check-in, I was informed that I could not receive an upgrade because I booked using the Explore discount. When I asked if this was a Marriott-wide policy or specific to this location, the agent insisted it was Marriott policy. This was puzzling, especially since I had just checked out that morning from The Hythe Resort in Vail, where I received a complimentary upgrade without issue. “Came here to celebrate my birthday, regretably. Drinks and food are extremely overpriced because you are landlocked here and its. 20 -30 min drive anywhere. The spa attendant had the gall to say at checkout ,”we suggest a 22 percent tip.” ????! I didnt ask! ..and how rude, offensive and presumptuous to even say that to a customer (particularly with the over-inflated prices and underwhelming service.) Even worse, my friend had a spa treatment and they tipped themselves without even asking her!! She then had them take it off and tipped appropriately in cash. Who do you people think you are??
