“My partner and I stayed in the Upper Stories where we were granted our request for a Mountain View facing the steeper San Jacinto mountains on the West side. It was definitely worth it and special thanks to Concierge Verne for looking out on this request. One drawback: no bar service at the pool for Upper Stories (no plan to bring it back anytime soon either according to my convo with bar at Lola Rose) so we basically only did the Main pool which was the most spectacular and scenic experience, but get there early like 9-10 am early to save seats Thu-Sat. “Total mess for Memorial Day weekend—don't stay here** My husband and I booked a stay here for Memorial Day weekend using our Amex Platinum. We checked in at 1:00 PM and were promised an upgraded room. Standard 3:00 PM check-in came and went. We checked back at 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM, only to be told our room *still* wasn't ready because they were waiting on a previous guest's late checkout. We weren’t the only ones stuck. “My wife & I had the pleasure of staying at The Thompson for her first visit to Palm Springs. Tamilyn at the front desk warmly greeted us with a big smile as we walked in. She was incredibly nice, friendly, funny, and very helpful! She recommended having a drink at the rooftop restaurant & bar to watch the sunset, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Marcos, the bartender was very nice & thoughtful. He made our sunset evening very nice. We were so happy to stay here for her first trip. The property is lovely & the staff are fantastic!
