“Stayed here Friday night after The Scratch concert and honestly expected a much more premium experience from a Hilton-branded property. The hotel markets itself as modern, upscale, and curated — but the actual experience felt more like “expensive with mood lighting.” For the price, I expected comfort, attention to detail, and service that justified the rate. Instead, it felt underwhelming and oddly disconnected for a hotel trying this hard to feel boutique. The concert was incredible. “We had the BEST stay at Canopy by Hilton Chicago this past weekend! There were four of us, and everything about our experience was amazing from start to finish. The hotel itself is so clean and aesthetic; modern, cozy, and beautifully designed. The front desk staff was incredibly helpful and welcoming. We were lucky enough to snag an early check-in, and although late checkout wasn’t available, they kindly held our bags all day so we could keep exploring the city stress-free. “Very lovely hotel. Small lobby and bar area, but very spacious rooms with beautiful mid-century modern furnishings and accessories. Location is great for access to Willis Tower and the south Loop area, but generally remote from the busier areas of the Loop and MagMile. One block from the Quincy L stop and many nearby bus stops help it feel a bit less “isolated.” But because it’s not near all the action, it’s a very quiet property. Overall, a wonderful hotel we’d certainly return to.” — Andrew R
