“The Proper Hotel was absolutely superb! The hotel was amazing and had wonderful character and history. The staff (particularly Vanessa) was outstanding— super friendly and responsive. She even showed us the architecturally unique Pool and Basketball suites on a private tour. The Cara Cara restaurant was gorgeous and the food was delicious. “It's a solid option but definitely not qualified to be a 5 star hotel. The service is not that level . No turn down or thoughtful extras. Rooms are very small. I was alone and it was fine but I would not have been comfortable sharing the room with one other person. Gym is not lux , super basic with limited equipment. Food was good but I'd rather stay elsewhere and go eat there one evening.” — Anya Zander

“Here you feel at home and a little like a movie star. It's a very atmospheric hotel with beautiful design, a cozy atmosphere, and great energy. I'd especially like to mention the staff—friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. It feels like they're genuinely happy to have you here, not just doing their job. The hotel's true gem is the rooftop restaurant. It offers stunning views of Downtown Los Angeles, a great atmosphere, and the perfect spot to watch the sunset with a cocktail.
