“The service left an extremely negative impression. There is a receptionist who completely lacks basic guest communication skills. By the way, her name is Sharmilla, remember this name. I was informed that check-in at the hotel starts at 4:00 PM, while in the neighboring hotel check-in begins at 3:00 PM. I calmly accepted this information and politely asked whether early check-in was possible for an additional fee, as I had flown to Barcelona for 11 hours and was extremely tired. “I had a great stay at the Hilton Diagonal Mar Barcelona. I arrived around 2 p.m., a bit before check-in, planning to either check in early if possible or just leave my luggage, and the staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful from the moment I arrived. I admittedly didn’t do much research before booking and was initially surprised that the hotel was a bit outside the city center, but I actually ended up really liking the location. It was easy to get Ubers, and I enjoyed spending my days exploring the city and then coming back to a quieter area at night. There’s also an IMAX theater directly” — Mari L

“I have stayed 4/5 times in this hotel and for the price to amenities ratio, you cannot go wrong. It’s not central, yet you get space in every area. Huge clean rooms, pool area with many sun loungers, restaurants & bars, easy access to the beach. The taxi only takes 5/10 minutes into central. Staff are extremely friendly and will help you. Exec lounge has superb food offering from 5pm and a nice balcony overlooking Barcelona.” — David Haines
