“We left Portugal yesterday after spending 3 nights at Hospes Infanta Sagres at the end of a 3 week visit to the north of Portugal and Galicia. Comparing the places we stayed at, the hotel was the highlight of our trip and one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. It's in a great central location, the building and decoration are fascinating, the rooms are very comfortable, and the breakfast is delicious. The icing on the cake is the delightfully friendly service from all the staff. “This does not feel like a five-star hotel. The only consistently strong part of the experience was the bell staff, along with the front door and elevator attendants, who were excellent throughout our stay. Unfortunately, the front desk staff during check-in were slow, disorganized, and ultimately unhelpful. We specifically booked and prepaid for an additional night before our arrival solely to guarantee early check-in after an overnight flight. However, when we arrived, we were informed that the hotel had canceled that reservation. It then took roughly 30 minutes for the staff to investigate t” — C J
