“Stay away from this hotel unless you enjoy feeling like you're sleeping in a sauna. Our room simply did not cool down. There is no way this hotel deserves a five-star rating, especially considering what they charge. It doesn't come close to five-star standards. The air conditioning doesn't work. The staff was unfriendly, clueless, and at times downright rude. When we complained about the heat in the room, we were told that "all hotels in Paris have problems with air conditioning." That turned out to be completely untrue! We moved to a nearby three-star hotel! Ironically, that hotel was better ” — Sara S.

We were tired, jet-lagged, and definitely not looking our best, but the welcome we received could not have been warmer. “My wife and I spent 4 nights at the Alfred Sommier in May and 4 nights in December 2025. We highly recommend the hotel. The staff is very competent and a pleasure to deal with. We benefitted in particular from Maëva, the wonderful concierge who provided us with superb advice and was most helpful in organizing excursions for us. On one busy hot day of tourism I retreated to the quiet hotel garden and read a book with a glass of Chablis. Much more welcoming than a big chain hotel.” — John Weekes
