“The two bedroom suite was very spacious, clean and bright. The breakfast was freshly made and very delicious. We also liked the small treats provided during turn down service and the welcome chocolate was beautiful. But there were a few hiccups. A major one is that we can hear music from the club every night and we can always hear our neighbors in the hallway. Also, breakfast service can be very slow so it’s not ideal for those leaving in the morning or in a rush. “Hotel La Gemma is an oasis amidst the throng around the Duomo and surrounding shopping areas. One turns the corner and the crowds and bustle fades away as you enter the hotel. It is physically pleasing, well appointed with excellent dining options and amenities. By far and away the very best part of this hotel are the people who work there. From Clara in housekeeping to Jean Luca and Andrea in management they are by far and away the nicest and most attentive people we encountered in our 3 weeks in Italia.
