“Oceana Santa Monica LXR is a very nice hotel overall. Most of the staff we interacted with were extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and welcoming. The room was excellent. We originally booked a base room but were upgraded to a one-bedroom suite. The space felt thoughtfully curated and stylish — you can tell real effort was put into the design, which makes it stand out from many standard American hotels. If paying cash, the hotel feels a bit overpriced, but I would say a fair value would be around $500–$600 per night. We redeemed a free night stay, which made the experience feel well worth it. “Oceana is my favorite boutique hotel in Los Angeles. I've stayed numerous times for relaxation and business and film shoots, and I'm always treated like royalty. Shout out to Erick Ordaz for always making sure I get a great room and a perfect stay. It's dog-friendly and the Palisades Park is conveniently right across the street. If you get an ocean room view, you will not want to leave. This is an expensive hotel and the food is exorbitantly priced. And it's totally worth it. You need to splurge at their French-ish bistro, La Monique. Ignore all the silliness about gluten, and celiac disease, ” — GARY FISCHER
