“The Suiran is located in a beautiful setting in Arashiyama. The bamboo forest, the Tenryu-ji temple and the Togetsukyo Bridge are right outside the door. The Ryokan styled rooms are beautiful and well appointed. The happy hour overlooking the Katsura River and our daily breakfast were elegant. The staff is over the top. Special shoutout to the attentive and enthusiastic Rei who was very helpful. The hotel is located about 30 minutes from Higashiyama and the older part of Kyoto.
