Taj Campton Place

“This was a great spot to stay in SF. It was in a nice area, close to activities, transportation, coffee, bar. The rooms were very comfortable and they were great with housecleaning. The shower water pressure was EXCELLENT. The desk was super polite and responsive. I asked for extra pillows and they sent them up right away. The breakfast was nice, I was definitely happy with the omelet and vanilla waffles. Wifi was included and very effective for a day of work. The only criticism is that the hallways and public areas are a little dated although still elegant. Also the restaurant was pretty slow” — Jared C

“Poor experience overall. Very old and dated hotel and amenities are bare boned. Gym is outdoor and old. Breakfast service is extremely slow and not worth the time or the money. We had vouchers for our stay as I had prepaid to include breakfast, but had to skip it on two days because the lines were so long. The breakfast buffet is quite minimal and not worth the $30. (It was included in our pre paid vouchers but the seeing cost on the menu was appalling because it was not worth the price). The breakfast service was also highly understaffed. “Taj Campton Place was a well-rounded stay, and much of that was shaped by the quality of service at breakfast. Eligio was attentive and consistently helpful. We follow a strictly egg-free vegetarian diet, and he handled this with care and thought throughout our stay. The parathas were a particular highlight, freshly prepared and well-suited to our palate. He also arranged a custom dessert for a special occasion during our visit, a considered and personal gesture. The location in Union Square worked very well for us.
