“Dark Dingy lobby thats so poorly lit that you can shoot a horror movie there. Rude front desk staff. Overpriced USD 400 per night Nile View room that firstly is NOT worth the price for the view and secondly is so noisy from the road traffic and hoking below that i couldn’t sleep - and i was on 9th floor! Still so noisy up there. Concierge will arrange overpriced (rip off) tours without suggesting cheaper alternatives. Front desk staff at VIVO should be fired. “As part of the National Geographic tour in Egypt, we spent 3 nights at the beginning of the trip and last 2 nights at the end of trip at this hotel. The candid feedback is that it is a stretchy Ritz, in that all the other Ritz I have stayed have met higher standards. The first 3 nights were disappointing because we had expected better. The issues ranging from major to minor - (1) a dated feel in the lobby and cigarette odor (2) dated decor in the room (3) night club noise on every night of our stay for the Nile-facing rooms, the boom sound requires solid noise-cancellation ear-plug.
