“Tortuga bay is the MOST amazing place to visit! My husband and I have visited for the past two years and this is truly a gem! The service is fantastic, the room and amenities are so well maintained and superb! We will come back year after year to visit this hotel! The staff all around the resort are attentive and always greet you with a smile. Our embajadores- Alexander and Valentina were friendly, always quick to help and assist with scheduling outside activities and dinners. Rocky, Jojo, Junior, Alcedo, and Emmy are amazing, friendly and make the stay happy and care free. Last but absolutely” — Beth Haftl

Amanera

“We had a wonderful stay at Amanera and felt very well taken care of throughout. It was the perfect getaway for a few days. The staff were warm and welcoming, and delivered the Aman level of service we love. Everyone seemed to know who we were, and we never had to say which casita we were in. We were also surprised with an upgrade to a pool casita, which is rare and greatly appreciated. There were many thoughtful touches, including a beautiful rose petal bath drawn by housekeeping one evening as a surprise. Housekeeping was truly amazing. They took great care of refreshing our casita each time ” — Dani

“This is a 5-star property in most every respect. The rooms, cleanliness, and service were excellent. The grounds are pristine. The architecture is nothing short of breathtaking, and every minor detail, from what you see upon entering the property to how you experience nature right outside your room, is accounted for. You’re walking down a perfectly curated museum when you pace the halls. You’ll see the most beautiful pottery when having dinner. Every employee will bend over backwards to help you, in a way that was almost suffocating (I prefer quick / casual interactions), but I can see this be” — Ivelisse Rodriguez

Eden Roc Cap Cana

“I’d stay away from this place. I was convinced to book it after reading a Condé Nast article recommending it, but I should have trusted my instincts and stayed at the new St. Regis instead. For the rates Eden Roc Cap Cana charges, you’d expect a true five-star experience. Unfortunately, that’s not what you get. The hotel feels outdated and poorly maintained, the food is mediocre (honestly comparable to what you’d expect at an all-inclusive, despite paying luxury hotel prices), and the service is shockingly bad. At breakfast alone, there seem to be plenty of servers standing around, yet only a ” — Luciana Andrade

The Ocean Club, a Luxury Collection Resort, Costa Norte

Sosua, Dominican Republic

“This place was AWESOME! The food was amazing and the room was great! I do have a couple of things though of slight complaint.. the bathroom floors are tile and very slippery when you shower because of the open shower concept... and there are no menus in the room for room service if you choose to stay in for a meal that you don't want to cook. The view out my bedroom window was obstructed by metal slats.... not sure the purpose other than privacy, but that's what the blinds are for lol...But the pool was amazing and the beach was just a few steps away! The people are super nice and accommodatin” — Lanette

“My stay at The St. Regis Cap Cana Resort was exceptional from start to finish. The resort is beautifully designed, with luxurious rooms, stunning surroundings, and a relaxing atmosphere throughout. Every staff member was warm, professional, and attentive. A special thank you to Lorris, the manager of Marola Mediterranean Grill, for making our dining experience so memorable. His hospitality and attention to detail were outstanding. The restaurant offers a beautiful poolside setting, excellent service, and delicious Mediterranean cuisine. I especially appreciated that Marola has different menus ” — Dalila Jafari
