“Lovely hotel! We celebrated our 10th anniversary and this hotel offered everything we were hoping for - tropical luxurious relaxation. The "tents" rooms are very comfortable, offering an extra wide bed, private large heated pool, a tub, a shower and an outdoor shower. They have several restaurants on premise, wine bar, ice cream bar, several outdoor heated and non-heated pools, a golf cart service, complimentary laundry service and more. The management of the hotel is the issue. They are cold, do not take issues very seriously, and no follow up. Complete downer on the experience. Food is okay - good, not amazing. “This is a nice Hilton in the center of San Jose. Apparently it is quite all, but the inside has been completely redone and is quite nice. The views of the city on the 5th floor are really great! Our room was pretty small, but everything was fine. I should add that they have a very good breakfast. The valet parking, which is required, is quite expensive, and it took them rather a long time to get our car when we were ready to leave. “My wife and I stayed at El Mangroove from Feb 16–24 for our honeymoon and honestly, we couldn’t have asked for a better first experience in Costa Rica! “This property is stunning! Only 30 minutes from Liberia airport (concierge will arrange your ride if you like). The staff take care of you from the moment you book. They are kind and attentive. The rooms look out over the Playa Penca and it’s a beautiful view. Kayak, snorkel, jet skis are all available from the resort.
