Upon arrival, the room presented several issues that are frankly unacceptable for a property of this caliber: 1. The air conditioning was completely non-functional. 2. The laundry slip had clearly been filled out and used by a previous guest. 3. “I stayed at the Mandarin Oriental Munich at the end of March ‘26, and the experience was truly excellent. One of the hotel’s biggest strengths is its location: perfect for exploring Munich on foot, in an elegant and quiet area while still being very close to the historic center, great restaurants, and luxury boutiques. “This is a really good hotel with one notable exception (more below). We chose it for the location in Munich’s old town and the hardwood floors. The decor of the room was fun. The layout, on the other hand, was very strange. The bathroom was right next to the bed and without a regular door - instead, segments of the bathroom wall (the one next to the bed…) pivoted to open into the bathroom (hard to explain - you have to see it to believe it). “This is the perfect location, right near the tram service and within walking distance to many restaurants and attractions. EVERYONE at the hotel made us feel welcome and valued. Breakfest Buffet was great as well as all staff there, so friendly, helpful and outgoing. Lobby bar staff friendly and always smiling. Concierge helped us with transportation to/from the airport and also helped us wrap a sign we bought from Haufbrauhaus between cardboard so it wouldn't bend.
