“We arrived to Schloss Elmau, a magical hotel in the heart of Bavaria, Germany. Magical is not enough to describe this place. The hotel and its fasciitis are incredible, the view is amazing (you can see the Alpine mountains when you wake up in the morning), the rooms are especially large and very comfortable. “It was excellent decision for our meeting and lunch (about month ago). As we're vegan, Chef cooked asparagus with vegetables for us. Oh my goodness, I never ate so delicious food for the last years! 😍 Vegetables were steamed (?), I suppose. I don't know what a magic device they have 😀 because veggies (carrot, cauliflower, etc.) were so fresh, aromatic, and healthy (preserve all the nutrients). Outstanding. Bread was delicious also. “This is a very classic, old-style hotel with a strong sense of history and character. The rooms feel traditional, but that’s part of the charm. The service was really good and definitely at the level you’d expect from this brand. The only downside was the ground-floor restaurant — when we visited in summer, there was no air conditioning, which made it quite uncomfortable. “Room 201 – Guest Feedback We chose this hotel for our honeymoon, and I have to say the experience has been deeply disappointing. Upon arrival, the room presented several issues that are frankly unacceptable for a property of this caliber: 1. The air conditioning was completely non-functional. 2. The laundry slip had clearly been filled out and used by a previous guest. 3. “Beautiful hotel, great staff. Terrace a highlight. Food at Hanse Stube is good but could be slightly more memorable but nice elements. Rooms slightly dated sadly and overall some parts of the hotel need investment. The main entrance outside needs a clean and update and some of the interior elements could be brought into 2026. “This is a really good hotel with one notable exception (more below). We chose it for the location in Munich’s old town and the hardwood floors. The decor of the room was fun. The layout, on the other hand, was very strange. The bathroom was right next to the bed and without a regular door - instead, segments of the bathroom wall (the one next to the bed…) pivoted to open into the bathroom (hard to explain - you have to see it to believe it). “This is the perfect location, right near the tram service and within walking distance to many restaurants and attractions. EVERYONE at the hotel made us feel welcome and valued.
