“We had a wonderful stay at the Kimpton RiverPlace Hotel, and what really stood out was the exceptional customer service. “The "DUMP" of the Pearl District! I spend 100+ nights per year in all levels of hotels and maintain diamond status. We're middle aged, not high maintenance and travel to Portland at least 6 times per year. However negative, this review is honest. The lobby/reception is just a desk next to the front door. Room was not ready at 4:00 when we called ahead of time confirming it would be. Was finally checked-in at 4:35; told nothing about the property nor was my diamond status acknowledged. “I enjoyed my weekend stay at The Duniway. The location is great- easy to get to various neighborhoods and attractions in Portland, plus close to lots of good restaurants - and it felt very quiet and safe, even walking back from the movie theater at 11pm at night. The restaurant on-site, Mayrose, is quite good! We had breakfast there each morning to take advantage of our Amex FHR credit, and also enjoyed dinner there one night. “We stayed at this hotel for three nights and really enjoyed its location. It was easy to access the freeway and within walking distance of many restaurants, shops, and bars. The hotel also offers self-parking for $45 per day, which was convenient. The staff were welcoming and friendly during check-in.
