We had an exceptional stay at the Capella Sydney. From the moment we arrived, the service was outstanding and the hotel itself was absolutely beautiful. The facilities, attention to detail, and overall atmosphere made our visit truly memorable. A special thank you to Piya, who was incredible throughout our stay. She went above and beyond in helping to organize our trip and took the time to ensure every detail was taken care of. Her warmth, professionalism, and genuine care made our experience feel truly special. We would highly recommend Capella Sydney and look forward to returning in the futuChristopher Arkless

Park Hyatt Sydney is an exceptional hotel in one of the best locations for visitors to Sydney. Situated right on the harbour, it offers breathtaking views and easy access to many of the city’s most iconic attractions. The staff were warm, professional, and genuinely friendly throughout our stay, always willing to assist with a smile. My wife and I returned to our 'Home away from home' in Sydney, for 2 nights in April. This year, we were celebrating both of our birthdays. We go every year and we just love the feeling that we get there, the amazing staff and the delightful food offerings. This time, I booked a dinner at The James Restaurant for our first night and it was amazing. We celebrated a milestone birthday for my wife. We met up with our friend, Steve in the Observatory Bar on our second night, to have dinner and drinks. He and Edward always make our dinners a highlight and a meal there is always fun. Four Seasons Hotel Sydney

Sydney, Australia

I’ve stayed in a number of 5-star hotels and the Four Seasons truly impressed me. The location alone is hard to beat. It’s within walking distance to the Opera House, MCA, and the CBD. On lazy days, we took the light rail from Circular Quay. The front desk staff members were attentive and professional. We arrived earlier than the check-in time, but didn’t have to wait for long and our luggages were looked after carefully. We booked the full harbour view room and it didn’t disappoint. It’s not very large, but not small either. They provided 2 luggage racks in the room, which really helped to keTheresa

Ace Hotel Sydney

Sydney, Australia

This hotel has a rather unusual room layout that may not suit everyone. The bathroom and shower doors have noticeable gaps at the top and bottom, which means there is very little privacy. Sounds (and in some cases even smells) travel easily into the room. The sink is also located directly in the bedroom area, so it essentially feels like you’re sleeping in your bathroom. It’s an odd design choice, especially at this price point. Another thing that stood out was a conversation my travel companion and I overheard between a staff member and a guest. I had an amazing stay at the Hilton Sydney on Saturday night with my family. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The hotel was very easy to drive to, and the valet parking was a fantastic start to our stay. We were greeted with a warm smile and outstanding service. I believe our valet's name was Vic, and he was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, giving us great recommendations on where to eat and dance in the city. The moment you walk into the hotel, every member of the staff makes you feel welcome. Everyone we met was professional, helpful, and genuinely frieNathalie Gallo

The InterContinental Sydney was an outstanding experience. The hotel’s location in the CBD is unbeatable, and the views are simply spectacular from the roof bar and level 31 pool. Being so close to the harbour made our stay feel genuinely special and memorable. The hotel itself was immaculate. Every space, from our room to the common areas, was exceptionally clean and well maintained. The attention to detail and housekeeping was excellent. What really set this experience apart, however, was the staff. At breakfast they were exceptionally helpful and everyone was genuinely welcoming. In particuSteven Luke

Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour

I booked through my credit card with my points as I probably couldn’t afford 5 nights otherwise. Definitely worth it. They upgraded me to a fancy corner room with view of Darling Harbour. Comfortable bed, amazing bathroom. Super clean. Only negative is no microwave and minimal fridge space. Breakfast buffet included a lot of food and was open past 9 unlike tiny continental breakfasts and they were very attentive. Good location in darling harbour, walkable access to ferries, shopping, restaurant (15-20min), long walk to the opera house (40 min) but doable. There’s construction happening right nJocelyn Seese

what did we like? honestly, everything. i’ve stayed at shangri-la sydney before for my partner’s 21st birthday, so i just had to come back and bring my mum to spoil her. it ended up being such an incredible experience from start to finish. we originally booked a deluxe opera house city king room but were pleasantly surprised with a free upgrade to the executive opera house room on check-in, which made the stay feel extra special. the room itself was stunning with unreal views and just the perfect place to relax and take it all in. we also loved heading up to blu bar 36 for an espresso martini madison wise

My daughter and I are checking out this morning after spending a night at Crown Towers Sydney, and it exceeded every expectation. We had booked a Premier Harbour Suite and were absolutely thrilled to be surprised with an upgrade to the Opera View Suite on arrival. What an incredible start to our stay! The suite was simply stunning, with two beautiful bedrooms, two luxurious bathrooms, and enormous bathtubs complete with built-in TVs. It was the perfect place to relax and unwind while taking in some of the best views Sydney has to offer. Every room had amazing views, but the lounge room was speTania McIntsh

W Sydney

We chose the W Hotel Darling Harbour to celebrate our wedding anniversary and our first time doing so with our children. While the hotel is modern, clean, and well-equipped, the overall experience felt underwhelming for a five-star property. Despite calling ahead to inform the hotel that we were celebrating our wedding anniversary, there was no acknowledgment upon arrival. The check-in experience felt impersonal and more akin to a budget hotel, which was disappointing given the brand and price point. The room itself was comfortable and had complete amenities. FHR in Sydney — FAQ

How many Fine Hotels + Resorts properties are in Sydney?

There are 15 luxury properties in Sydney bookable through a card collection — Amex Fine Hotels + Resorts, The Hotel Collection, Chase The Edit or Capital One Premier — this page shows the all 15. Each earns you perks like daily breakfast, a property credit and room upgrades on top of your room rate.

Which card gives the best hotel benefit in Sydney?

It depends on the property. Amex Platinum (FHR) adds daily breakfast, a ~$100 credit and 4pm checkout with no minimum stay. Chase Sapphire Reserve (The Edit) and Capital One Venture X (Premier) add similar perks with a two-night minimum. Many Sydney hotels appear in more than one collection, so book through whichever card gives you the richest credit.

Must I book a prepaid rate to trigger the property credit?

For Amex FHR, no — the on-property credit applies to any FHR-booked stay through Amex Travel. For The Hotel Collection and Chase's The Edit, book the standard collection rate through the card's own travel portal (not a third-party site) and the credit, breakfast and upgrade post automatically at checkout.

Do I need to log into Amex or Chase to see these hotels?

No. This page lists every participating Sydney property publicly so you can plan first. When you're ready to book, open a hotel's page for direct portal links.
