“We were excited to stay at Brach in Madrid. Brach is located on Gran Via, a lively and vibrant street, which made exploring the area really convenient. We were greeted by the porter, who escorted us to the reception. Our first room was a bit tiny, so we asked for something more spacious, and they kindly gave us a better one. The room was comfortable, with windows overlooking the main street, and the bathroom was spacious and well-appointed. “I stayed there one night in June. Exerything was exceptional and above my expectations. Very friendly and cosy welcome, efficient porter service, beautiful room and bathroom with choice between bathtub and shower, tasteful decoration, great and comfortable basket awaiting my dog, delicious and very reasonably priced food in the stunning restaurant, excellent breakfast, etc. It is hard to find anything to criticize except maybe the underground carpark located opposite the hotel with its very narrow ramps and the absence of valet, but I'm just being picky. “It has a great location, breakfast is fantastic and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. However, since it is expensive the room and bathroom are too small. Soundproofing needs to be upgraded. We were on the first floor, street side and trash trucks in the middle of the night, and street workers early morning with blowers was unacceptable noise. “If you’re expecting a proper 5-star experience, lower your expectations immediately. The towels were filthy, the shower was broken, and the room itself felt more like a coffin. Upon checkout the receptionist asked how our stay was, after informing him about our experience he simply shrugged. Seems he’s very familiar with negative feedback. The only positive thing I can say is the location — that’s really the only reason this place survives. Other than that, it’s absolutely not worth the price they charge.
